Market outlook
Stable Outlook 7/10
Prices are likely to remain relatively stable unless a major new Baymax or Big Hero 6 release reignites character demand. The card’s limited promo supply supports a floor, while the availability of both foil and non-foil copies keeps it from behaving like a true ultra-scarce trophy card.[1][3][5]
Next months. Likely to trade in a narrow range with modest volatility, especially for near-mint non-foil copies and graded foil copies.
Long term. Over 1-3 years, gradual appreciation is plausible if Lorcana promo collecting continues to mature, but gains are likely to be steady rather than explosive unless Baymax receives renewed cross-media attention.
History
Baymax is the inflatable healthcare robot from Disney's 2014 film Big Hero 6, originally created in the 2012 Marvel comic series adaptation of the same name and inspired by the need for a gentle, medical-focused companion character. In Lorcana, Baymax appears as a Sapphire character whose healing theme matches his on-screen role as a personal healthcare companion and robot designed to monitor and treat injuries.[14][1]
This promo version of Baymax – Armored Companion was first released on December 7, 2024, as a Challenge Promo tied to Disney Lorcana Championship events in Europe and North America.[1][9] It was revealed on November 15, 2024.[1]
- The promo exists in both foil and non-foil versions; the foil version was awarded to Top 8 players at the European and North American Championships, creating only 16 known foil copies.[1]
- The non-foil version was used as prizing in the Turbo Zone side events at the Championship events for formats such as Pack Rush, Multiplayer, and Core Constructed.[1]
- The same alternate art by Amber Kommavongsa was also used on Baymax Challenge sleeves and a Challenge playmat, making this one of the more recognizable Championship promo treatments.[1]

Collector notes
Condition. Check centering, edge wear, corner whitening, and surface scuffs, with extra attention to the dark border and foil areas on the Championship foil version. Non-foil copies are known to appear somewhat faded, so color variation should not be mistaken for damage; print quality consistency is a useful comparison point.[1][10]
Storage. Store in a penny sleeve and rigid top loader or card saver, keep away from humidity and direct light, and avoid repeated handling because promo foils and dark-bordered cards show wear quickly. For high-end copies, use semi-rigid storage and consider grading if the card is intended for long-term preservation.
Authenticity. Authentic copies should match the Championship promo layout, card number 9/C1, and the official alternate art/foiling described by Disney Lorcana sources.[1][9] Be cautious of proxy cards and fan-made reproductions listed on marketplace sites; compare the print texture, foil pattern, and border treatment against documented official images and card databases.[1][19]
