Market outlook
Rising Outlook 7/10
The card benefits from steady character popularity, premium manga-art collector interest, and limited high-grade supply. Market data shows meaningful value retention and strong graded 10/graded 10 pricing relative to the raw card.
Next months. Likely to remain firm to slightly higher unless broader One Piece TCG prices soften.
Long term. Likely to appreciate gradually if manga alt art demand stays strong and mint supply remains limited, with the best gains concentrated in graded 10 copies.
History
Silvers Rayleigh is the former right-hand man of Gol D. Roger, the Pirate King in One Piece, and one of the most respected veteran pirates in the series. Known as the 'Dark King,' he later becomes a master mentor figure to Monkey D. Luffy, teaching advanced Haki and serving as a bridge between the old era of piracy and the new generation. His significance is both narrative and symbolic: he represents the legacy of Roger's crew, the lost era of the Pirate King, and the passing of knowledge to the next generation.
First released in the Japanese One Piece Card Game expansion Two Legends (OP08) on September 13, 2024.
- This is the Japanese Manga Alt Art version of OP08-118, a Secret Rare character card.
- TCGplayer lists the base card as a red Character with 8 cost, 8000 power, subtype Former Roger Pirates, attribute Slash, and artwork by AKIRA EGAWA.
- PriceCharting tracks the manga alt art version as a much higher-value variant than the regular card, reflecting the scarcity and collector demand for manga illustration cards.
Collector notes
Condition. Check for whitening on edges and corners, print lines in the foil, surface scratches, centering, and any damage from sleeving or top-loading. Manga alt arts can show small factory imperfections, so examine the full front and back under angled light.
Storage. Store immediately in a soft sleeve and rigid top loader or magnetic holder, ideally with a penny sleeve inside the rigid case. Keep away from humidity, heat, and direct light, and avoid repeated handling because surface scratching can significantly affect value.
Authenticity. Verify the Japanese print quality, correct OP08-118 numbering, proper foil pattern, and accurate manga-style artwork alignment. Counterfeits often show blurry text, incorrect color saturation, weak holo texture, or inconsistent card stock thickness compared with genuine One Piece cards.
