Market outlook
Stable Outlook 7/10
Recent raw market indicators have remained in roughly the $80-$90 range, while high-grade copies have shown stronger but volatile pricing. The card benefits from out-of-print supply and TAG TEAM nostalgia, but modern-era production volume and competition from the more desirable alternate-art version limit sustained rapid appreciation.
Next months. Over the next 3-6 months, prices are likely to remain broadly stable with fluctuations around current raw near-mint and graded market levels. graded 10 copies may experience larger swings because of low transaction volume and auction timing.
Long term. Over 1-3 years, the card has moderate-to-good appreciation potential, particularly in graded 10 or exceptionally clean raw condition. A gradual rise is more likely than a rapid surge, although renewed TAG TEAM nostalgia, reduced supply, or a broader Pokémon collectibles cycle could produce stronger gains.
History
Sableye is a Dark/Ghost-type Pokémon introduced in Generation III, while Tyranitar is a Rock/Dark-type Pokémon introduced in Generation II. This TAG TEAM card combines two popular Dark-type Pokémon and depicts them as a powerful 280-HP Pokémon-GX. The pairing emphasizes Tyranitar's destructive strength and Sableye's gemstone-themed identity.
First released in the English Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion Sun & Moon—Unified Minds on August 2, 2019, as card 245/236. It was also issued in the Japanese equivalent expansion Remix Bout before the English release.

- Its Rainbow Rare treatment uses a multicolored textured foil pattern and is commonly described by marketplaces as a Hyper Rare or Rare Rainbow.

Collector notes
Condition. Inspect the front and back under angled light for whitening, edge chipping, dents, scratches, print lines, roller marks, surface indentations, and uneven centering. Rainbow secret rares are especially sensitive to textured-surface wear and scratches that may not be obvious in flat lighting. Check the corners for whitening and the back border for silvering. Centering, clean texture, strong gloss, and absence of dents are particularly important for high-grade copies.
Storage. For raw cards, use an archival penny sleeve followed by a semi-rigid holder or a properly sized toploader. Store vertically in a cool, dry, temperature-stable area away from direct sunlight, humidity, heat, and pressure. Avoid loose storage, rubber bands, PVC holders, and overstuffed binders. For graded cards, use a protective slab sleeve and keep cases away from impact and prolonged UV exposure.
Authenticity. Verify the correct Unified Minds layout, card number 245/236, TAG TEAM GX design, Rainbow Rare texture, Pokémon copyright line, attack text, set symbol, and consistent holo pattern. Compare the card with high-resolution images from reputable databases. Counterfeits may have incorrect fonts, dull or overly glossy foil, flat texture, wrong colors, blurry fine print, unusual card thickness, incorrect light transmission, or poor-cut edges. For valuable copies, buy from established sellers and consider professional grading or authentication.
