Market outlook
Stable Outlook 7/10
Recent tracking shows a short-term decline in raw near-mint pricing, but broader collector interest and competitive relevance support a stabilizing market rather than a sharp collapse.[1][2][13][14]
Next months. Expect mostly sideways movement with modest volatility, especially around graded inventory and auction timing.
Long term. Over 1-3 years, the card has a reasonable chance to drift upward gradually if One Piece TCG demand remains strong and high-grade copies stay relatively limited.
History
Boa Hancock is a major character from Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece, known as the Pirate Empress and captain of the Kuja Pirates. She is one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea and is closely associated with Amazon Lily, the Kuja tribe, and the Snake-Snake Fruit; in the card game she is represented as a blue Leader tied to the Seven Warlords of the Sea/Kuja Pirates traits.[10][14]
This card was first released in the English One Piece Card Game set 500 Years in the Future (OP07), which PriceCharting lists with a release date of June 28, 2024.[5] The card number is OP07-038 and its alternate-art/full-art Leader version is the chase print associated with the same set.[1][5][15]
- The base Leader version is OP07-038 and is tournament legal in the One Piece Card Game.[10][14]
- The Leader is blue, has 5 Life, 5000 Power, and a once-per-turn draw effect that triggers when a Character is removed by your effect and you have 5 or fewer cards in hand.[10][14]
- Decklist data shows Boa Hancock has seen notable competitive use, including Regional and Treasure Cup placements, with one recorded first-place finish by a Hancock deck at Regional Auckland.[2]
Collector notes
Condition. Check for whitening on corners and edges, especially the dark border areas common on One Piece cards. For full-art/parallel leaders, inspect the foil surface for scratches, print lines, scuffs, and surface haze; centering is important because off-center Leader cards are more noticeable. Also verify clean corners, no bends, no pressure marks, and no factory dents along the edges.
Storage. Store in a soft penny sleeve and rigid top loader or semi-rigid holder immediately after opening. Keep away from humidity, direct sunlight, and heat to protect the foil layer and prevent warping. For higher-value copies, use an inner sleeve plus a graded submission sleeve or magnetic holder when not actively handling the card.
Authenticity. Authentic One Piece cards should have sharp print quality, correct color saturation, consistent foil pattern, and crisp text alignment. Compare the card number OP07-038, set branding, and Leader formatting against verified listings from known marketplaces or price guides. Counterfeits often show blurry text, incorrect foil shine, poor cut quality, or a wrong back print; Japanese and English versions should not be mixed up.
