Market outlook
Stable Outlook 7/10
Recent prices have eased from early peaks but remain supported by collector demand for premium full-art chase cards and limited supply.
Next months. Likely to trade in a relatively tight range unless grading demand or set nostalgia causes a fresh spike.
Long term. Potential for gradual appreciation if the card remains a key chase from Pitch Black and high-grade population stays limited.
History
Mega Zeraora ex is a Mega Evolution Pokémon card based on Zeraora, the Mythical Electric-type Pokémon introduced in Generation VII. Zeraora is known for extreme speed, lightning manipulation, and a high-energy, feral combat style, making it a natural fit for a premium chase-card treatment in the Mega Evolution-era product line.
First released on July 17, 2026 in the English Mega Evolution expansion Pitch Black as card 114/084.
- This card is a Special Illustration Rare/full-art style chase card, not a standard Ultra Rare printing.
- It is the only known English printing of Mega Zeraora ex 114/084 in Pitch Black, with no alternate reverse-holo version reported.
- The card’s illustrator is credited as GIDORA, and the card is part of the ME05/Pitch Black numbering sequence.

Collector notes
Condition. Check for whitening on corners and edges, surface scratching on the holofoil, print lines, centering, and any indentation or pressure marks on the full-art surface. Special Illustration Rare cards are especially prone to visible edge wear and micro-scratches.
Storage. Store in a penny sleeve and rigid top loader or semi-rigid holder, keep away from sunlight and humidity, and avoid friction with other cards. For high-grade copies, use a fresh inner sleeve before grading submission and store vertically in a protected box.
Authenticity. Verify the set name, card number 114/084, textured holofoil finish, and crisp print quality. Counterfeits often have poor color saturation, muddy text, incorrect font spacing, flat or missing texture, and off-center or blurry borders. Compare the back color and gloss against an authentic modern Pokémon TCG card.
