Market outlook
Stable Outlook 4/10
The base card is widely available and reprinted, so long-term price growth is limited. Demand should remain steady because Tony Tony Chopper is a major fan-favorite character, but supply remains ample.
Next months. The common printing should remain near bulk-to-low-single-digit pricing, with modest movement depending on grading demand and overall One Piece market sentiment.
Long term. Over 1-3 years, the regular card is likely to stay stable or drift slightly upward in high-grade copies, while special parallel or early-distribution versions may outperform the base version.
History
Tony Tony Chopper is a reindeer from Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece manga and anime who becomes the Straw Hat Pirates’ doctor after gaining human-like intelligence and abilities from the Human-Human Fruit (Hito Hito no Mi). He is one of the crew’s most recognizable mascots and a major supporting character, valued for both his medical role and his strong emotional presence in the story.
This card first appeared in the English release of Starter Deck 1: Straw Hat Crew (ST01) in 2022, with the standard ST01-006 printing and a parallel/special version associated with early starter-deck product variants and later reprints. The card is cataloged by collector databases as part of the original Straw Hat Crew starter deck line.
- ST01-006 is a 1-cost red Character with 1000 Power and the Blocker ability.
- Collector databases note this variant was reprinted in One Piece The Best (PRB01).
- The super pre-release / early distribution version is widely tracked separately from the regular starter-deck print, which affects collector pricing.

Collector notes
Condition. Check all four corners for whitening, the flat red borders for edge wear, and the surface for scratches, roller marks, or print lines. For starter-deck cards, centering and corner sharpness matter, but light edge wear is especially common because the card was available in mass-market sealed product and handled frequently. Parallel/foil-style versions should be inspected for surface scuffing and holographic scratches under angled light.
Storage. Store in a penny sleeve and rigid top loader or semi-rigid holder, especially for parallel variants. Keep the card away from humidity, direct sunlight, and pressure from stacked cards. For long-term preservation, use archival-safe sleeves and store upright in a cool, dry place.
Authenticity. Authentic One Piece cards should have sharp print registration, consistent font shapes, correct color saturation, and the standard Bandai back design. Fakes often show blurry text, incorrect card stock gloss, off-center borders, or poor texture on foils. Compare the card against known authentic scans for the ST01-006 layout, especially the exact blocker text, set code placement, and power/cost formatting.
