History
Dragonite is a Dragon/Flying-type pseudo-legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation I (Red/Blue), known as the evolved form of Dragonair and Dratini. It is revered as a compassionate sea guardian capable of circling the globe in 16 hours, with significant lore as a protector of shipwrecked sailors, making it one of Pokémon's most iconic and powerful non-legendary dragons.
First printed in the Pokémon TCG Sword & Shield – Evolving Skies set in August 2021, with the Alternate Art variant #192/203 released worldwide in English.
- Dragonite V Alt Art from Evolving Skies is one of the most sought-after chase cards due to its stunning artwork by Nurikabe depicting a serene, ethereal Dragonite amid clouds.
- Part of the V-series in Sword & Shield era, featuring boosted HP and powerful attacks like Hyper Beam for 30 damage per Energy.
- Evolving Skies set is renowned for its high-value Alternate Arts, with Dragonite V contributing to its status as a modern classic set.

Collector notes
Condition. Inspect centering on all edges (especially top due to holo patterning), check for print lines, surface scratches on the glossy Alt Art finish, edge whitening, and corner wear; common flaws include cloud smudges in artwork and holo swirl scratches.
Storage. Use semi-rigid or magnetic holders (e.g., Dragon Shield or Sleeve City top loaders with sleeves); store upright in cool, dry environment away from sunlight to prevent holo oxidation; avoid stacking without dividers.
Authenticity. Verify holo pattern matches official swirling rainbow effect with sharp text; check set symbol and numbering alignment; use blacklight for PTCG security fibers; compare to official scans on TCGPlayer or PokeData; fakes often have blurry artwork or incorrect font weights.
