Market outlook
Stable Outlook 7/10
The card has durable character demand, but it is not a top-tier ultra-rare chase in the same way as the rarest serialized or special promotional cards. Price support is likely to remain steady for clean, high-grade, and stamped copies, while ordinary copies should move more with broader market sentiment.[1][3]
Next months. Likely to remain range-bound with modest movement unless a tournament or collector-driven surge increases interest in stamped copies.
Long term. Expected to hold value well relative to ordinary Leaders, with the best copies and event-stamped variants retaining the strongest premiums.
History
Monkey D. Luffy is the protagonist of Eiichiro Oda's One Piece, a pirate captain whose goal is to become King of the Pirates. In the One Piece Card Game, he is one of the most recognizable and collectible leader characters, and this ST13 version reflects the Ultra Deck: The Three Brothers theme centered on Luffy, Ace, and Sabo. The card’s black/yellow identity and life-manipulation ability reflect a later-era Luffy design built around the narrative importance of the three brothers and the Straw Hat Crew/Supernovas affiliations.[2][6]
This card was first released in the Japanese Ultra Deck: The Three Brothers (ST13) in 2024 as card ST13-003.[6] The official card list shows ST13-003 as a Leader in that set, and marketplace listings identify the Japanese release as a 2024 product.[1][6]
- It is a Leader card with Black/Yellow color identity, 4 Life, 5000 Power, and Strike attribute.[2][4][6]
- The card’s effect allows face-up Life cards to be placed at the bottom of the deck rather than added to hand, and its once-per-turn main effect can add up to two cost-5 Character cards to Life when the player has 0 Life cards.[2]
- The card is illustrated by Hokuyuu and is tournament-legal.[2]

- It is a Leader card from a specific 2024 product line rather than a mass-opened booster chase card.[6]
- Special stamped Southeast Asian Championship 2023 copies are scarcer than standard releases because event-stamped variants are distributed more selectively.
- Luffy’s character popularity increases effective collector scarcity by concentrating demand on one of the franchise’s most chased names.[1][2]
Collector notes
Condition. Check the four corners, front surface gloss, and edge whitening, since Japanese Leader cards often show wear on edges and corners first. For stamped versions, inspect the special stamp placement, ink sharpness, and whether the stamp has consistent texture and alignment. Also verify centering, as alternate or stamped cards can have visually obvious off-centering that affects grading.
Storage. Store in a penny sleeve and rigid top loader or semi-rigid holder immediately after handling. Keep away from humidity and UV light, and avoid friction on the stamped area because raised or metallic stamp elements can show wear quickly. For high-value copies, use a graded slab or secure magnetic holder only after confirming fit and card size.
Authenticity. Compare the card against the official ST13-003 layout and text from the official card list.[6] For stamped variants, confirm the stamp matches known event branding, font, and placement, and be cautious of aftermarket stamp additions or altered cards. Authentic copies should match the official artwork by Hokuyuu and the standard Leader frame details for ST13-003.[2][6]
