Market outlook
Rising Outlook 7/10
The card combines iconic character recognition, strong visual appeal, and a premium manga-art chase slot. As sealed supply tightens and more copies are absorbed into long-term collections, higher-grade examples may continue to appreciate, especially if the One Piece Card Game remains popular.
Next months. Likely to remain firm to gradually upward, with price spikes possible for graded 10/graded 10 examples if low-population sales surface.
Long term. Over 1-3 years, strong collector demand could support continued appreciation, especially for high-grade copies, though gains may be uneven and sensitive to broader TCG market conditions.
History
Sogeking is Usopp’s masked alter ego from One Piece, first introduced during the Enies Lobby arc as the self-proclaimed 'hero of Sniper Island.' In the One Piece Card Game, the card’s rules text explicitly states it also treats its name as [Usopp], making it thematically and mechanically tied to Usopp-based decks and support cards. The character is significant both as a fan-favorite comedic identity and as a serious narrative symbol of courage and loyalty.
First released in Japanese in the ONE PIECE CARD GAME booster set '-PILLARS OF STRENGTH-' (OP03) on June 30, 2023, as card OP03-122. The English-language version was later released in the corresponding English Pillars of Strength set.
- OP03-122 is a Secret Rare Character card with a Manga Alt Art variant, one of the most collectible treatment levels in the set.
- The card’s effect includes a strong tempo play: returning an opposing Character costing 6 or less to hand, then drawing 2 and trashing 2.
- Because it also counts as [Usopp], it has broader deck-building synergy than a normal standalone character card.

Collector notes
Condition. For high-end Manga Alt Art copies, check centering, corner wear, edge whitening, surface scratches, print lines, and holofoil scuffing. In One Piece cards, surface imperfections and edge whitening are the most common grading deductions, and the black/dark border areas make wear easier to see.
Storage. Store in a perfect-fit sleeve, then a semi-rigid or top loader, and keep the card in a low-humidity environment away from direct sunlight. For graded-value cards, avoid repeated handling; use gloves or clean hands and minimize friction on the foil surface.
Authenticity. Verify correct One Piece Card Game font, set symbol, card numbering (OP03-122), and proper foil pattern for the Manga Alt Art version. Compare the texture, saturation, and text alignment against verified scans. Counterfeits often show blurry text, incorrect foil sheen, weak saturation, and poor edge cutting. Professional grading or authentication is recommended for expensive copies.
