History
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (born Ferdinand Lewis Alcindor Jr. on April 16, 1947) was a legendary basketball player dominant at every level. He led Power Memorial High School to a 79-2 record including a 71-game winning streak, guided UCLA to three straight NCAA titles (1967-1969), and won six NBA championships with the Milwaukee Bucks (1971) and Los Angeles Lakers (1980, 1982, 1985, 1987, 1988). Drafted #1 overall by the Bucks in 1969, he played 20 seasons, earned 19 All-Star nods, 10 All-NBA First Team selections, and 5 All-Defensive First Team honors. This rookie card captures him as 'Lew Alcindor' pre-name change to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

Collector notes
Condition. Check for centering issues (common flaw, especially top/bottom), chipping on black borders, print defects on the sky blue background, corner wear, and edge dents. Reverse printing is prone to off-centering.
Storage. Store in card saver or semi-rigid holder within a cool, dry environment away from sunlight; use top-loaders for graded slabs; avoid stacking ungraded copies.
Authenticity. Examine for correct card stock thickness, sharp registration of name/logo, original Topps copyright on back; fakes often have blurry printing or modern paper feel. Verify high grades via graded/graded population reports; no official reprints exist.
