Market outlook
Stable Outlook 7/10
The card already has a clear premium because of promo status and limited foil supply, but the existence of a regular set version and the gradual settling of event-driven hype suggest a mostly stable market with selective appreciation for graded and near-mint copies.
Next months. Expect mostly sideways movement with intermittent spikes if championship promo interest increases or if high-grade copies surface.
Long term. Over 1-3 years, graded top-pop copies and sealed/promotional variants should outperform raw non-foil copies, while the broad market price should rise modestly rather than sharply.
History
Baymax is the inflatable healthcare robot from Disney's Big Hero 6, originally introduced in the 2014 animated feature film. In the film and the broader franchise, Baymax is defined by his caregiving role, calm demeanor, and focus on physical and emotional healing, which makes the character’s Lorcana gameplay identity especially thematic because the card removes damage from other characters and converts that healing into lore. This promo version, 'Baymax - Armored Companion,' also reflects Baymax’s armored combat form from Big Hero 6, a more action-oriented version of the character that still retains the core healing concept.
This card was first released as a Disney Lorcana Championship promo on December 7, 2024, with availability tied to the European and North American Championships. The foil version was distributed to the Top 8 players at those events, while the non-foil version was used as prizing in the Turbo Zone at the same championship events.
- The card is a special promotional version with alternate art by Amber Kommavongsa and a unique border/foil treatment.
- The foil championship version is extremely limited, with only 16 known copies distributed to Top 8 finishers across the two championship events.
- The same artwork was also used for Baymax Challenge card sleeves and the Baymax - Armored Companion Challenge playmat.

Collector notes
Condition. Check for edge wear, corner whitening, surface scuffs, and centering, especially on the foil version where scratches and print lines are more visible. Non-foil copies can show slight fading or a washed-out look that appears to be normal for this promo, so compare with known authentic examples before treating color differences as damage. As with many promo cards, look closely for handling wear from event distribution, including minor binder dents and sleeve nicks.
Storage. Store the card immediately in a soft penny sleeve and rigid top loader or card saver, especially if it is the championship foil copy. Keep it away from humidity, heat, and direct light to preserve the foil layer and prevent warping. For long-term storage, use an archival sleeve and a protective binder only if the card is not intended for grading.
Authenticity. Authentic copies should match the promo card number 9/C1 for the championship promo or 157/204 for the Azurite Sea release, depending on which version is being examined. The championship foil should have the distinct alternate-art promo finish and should not be confused with the regular Azurite Sea legendary printing. Because proxy and custom cards exist on marketplaces, verify the print quality, set numbering, typography, and the presence of the correct official Disney Lorcana layout; unusually sharp or incorrect textures are red flags.
